DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
The trail is a beautiful community walking trail that stretches just over 1 km (or up
to 3.1 km) in length. A former section of rail line, the Tressle Trail goes alongside
and then across the Mersey River in Liverpool. The surface is well packed, and the tread
is very wide. When crossing the river along the refinished Tressle bridge, note the
wonderful views and interpretive signage detailing the history and importance of the
rail line to Liverpool.
The trail is open year round for hiking, walking, and cycling. Trail users are
encouraged to complete the entire loop of Liverpool Harbour, by continuing along
Main Street after crossing the train bridge. Follow Main Street until Henry Hensey
Drive, turn left along the waterfront. When up reach the Blue Bridge, past the
liverpool VIC, turn left on Bristol and follow the route until you meet the entrance
again by the Irving. This extended route total 3.1 kilometers.
