DESCRIPTION
Accomodations and supplies can be found in Shelburne and Lockeport. Summer camping at
The Islands Park in Shelburne or at Louis Head Campground. A good trail for birdwatching,
painting, photography, fitness walking etc.
This trail provides views of a large saltwater marsh. Watch for a variety of waterfowl.
Vegetation along the trail includes speckled alder, wild rose, mountain ash, red maple, birch,
tamarack, white pine, and even a few locust trees. Notice how the white pine here indicate
the direction of the prevailing winds. They seem to be permanently wind swept in one direction.
The entire trail follows an abandoned rail line.
Use caution when crossing the highway.
