DESCRIPTION

A small pocket of wilderness on the outskirts of Wolfville, Rawding Ravine is a
haven for local and visiting naturalists alike. The trail itself is part of a much
larger trail, the Millennium Trail, which stretches from Waterfront Park in down
town Wolfville all the way up the hill to Resevoir Park.

Rawding Ravine trail skirts the edges of a ravine containing a marsh area and a
small pond often used for skating in winter months. You will travel through mainly
mixed forest with the exception of one side of the pond where large hemlock dominate,
leaving a clear, needle covered forest floor underneath.

The trail is easy to follow and forks a number of times. Stay to the pond side at
each fork to be safe. The other trails lead to private property. At one point
Trembling Aspen leaves "trembling" in the wind may sound like a bubbling brook.
Don't be fooled! Because the majority of this trail runs along a marshy, wet area,
particularly fierce mosquitoes reside here. Bring some insect repellent if visiting
in the spring or summer months.

All necessary facilities are nearby as the trail is within town limits.
