DESCRIPTION

This is a wonderful nature trail leading you through a lush evergreen forest
typical of highland plateau regions. The trail is easy to follow as it is
actually an old fire road. The tree canopy here is quite thick creating a
unique natural environment. Look for species of plants that you may not have
seen many times before. After you have reached the two thirds mark on the
trail, you will come to a fork in the path (a bench is located here). Take the
trail leading to the right to get to Benjies Lake.

The trail here has sections of boardwalk which makes for easy hiking and also
protects the delicate environment. Continuing straight will eventually take you
all the way to the MacKenzie River. Parts of this trail are wet and muddy and
may be quite hard to follow. A map and compass skills are recommended. This is
a great area for viewing wildlife such as frogs, a variety of birds, flowers,
coyotes and moose.

The park contains all necessary amenities, including camping areas during the
summer season.
