DESCRIPTION

This maintained 6 km trail return hike offers a breathtaking view of the Antigonish
Lowlands. From the administration building lot, follow the park road to your left.
At the first junction, take the left road to cross the power line. The first part of
the trail leads through a dense white spruce forest passing an inactive (in 1999)
beaver colony and crossing Cameron Brook. Here the short loop turns to the right
and follows the brook upstream.

The long trail continues uphill where you go through a hardwood forest of
mostly maple and beech. Exiting from the forest you come out to former farm
fields. To get back to where you started, turn left at the junction and follow the
pavement. There is fresh water available at the park as well as parking, a picnic area,
and outhouses. Other facilities can be found in nearby Antigonish.

This trail is no longer maintained by the Department of Natural Resources so take care.
